The American Corner of IAIN North Sumatera (IAIN-SU) is located on the third floor of IAIN-SU Library. It is a partnership program between the Public Affairs Office of the Embassy of the United States of America in Indonesia and the State Institute for Islamic Studies IAIN-SU, Indonesia. It provides accurate and timely information about the United States to the general public of Indonesia, especially those living around Medan Municipality.
The Corner is small, an American-style library created to help increase
mutual understanding between Indonesia and the United States by making
available information about America in a variety of formats. The
"American Corner" is fully managed and operated by IAIN-SU with
programmatic support from the U.S. Embassy. It provides a venue for guest
U.S. speakers, meetings with students and English Language teachers.
Membership is open to the general public. The collection includes books,
periodicals, CD-ROMs and DVDs on America in English. The American Corner
provides a user-friendly atmosphere for its users. Providing Internet
access for educational searches is a valuable service. Also, providing
access to a wide array of information included in EBSCO host electronic
journal is another added-value to host an American Corner.
Above all, however, be sure to visit the American Center or Corner
nearest you!.

the sixth American Corner to open in Indonesia and the first in Sumatra.
