Message from Ambassador Marciel
Welcome to the U.S. Mission’s new business tab, our latest effort to provide U.S. companies with the information needed to seize more commercial opportunities in Indonesia. Indonesia’s economic outlook continues to be positive, with GDP growth topping six percent and an increasing sense of optimism and confidence among the Indonesian public. However, with growth and confidence have come pressing infrastructure needs and regulatory challenges.
I encourage you to read through the many resources on this site and reach out to the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, the Consulate in Surabaya, and our American Presence Post in Medan to learn more. We want to work with you to secure more deals for American companies and create greater business-to-business ties between the United States and Indonesia.

The United States and Indonesia achieved another milestone under the Comprehensive Partnership between our two countries with the August 8 signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support greater bilateral cooperation on infrastructure projects. Visiting U.S. Assistant Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs José Fernandez and Indonesia Ministry of Industry Director General of International Cooperation Agus Tjahajana signed the MOU at the Ministry of Industry.
