THE ARREST OF A U.S.
CITIZEN
IN INDONESIA
American citizens who are arrested or
detained by Indonesian authorities should contact the consular section
for assistance in locating an attorney
and communicating with relatives or friends.
Although the Embassy cannot "get an American citizen out of jail,"
the consular section does make an effort to ensure that the American
is safe and that his/her rights in
Indonesia
are protected.
