The State-Owned Asset Management Company (PT Perusahaan Pengelola
Aset (Persero) manages "free and clear" assets formerly
owned by the former Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) which
has been transferred to the Ministry of Finance. The establishment of
of the PPA was governed by Presidential Decree No. 15/2004 on the
closing of IBRA and government regulation 10/204 establishing PPA. PPA
manages about 4,000 property assets including land parcels, apartment
units, houses, buildings, factories, etc. PPA is also gradually
privatizing remaining government shares in banks including BCA,
Danamon, Niaga, BII, Lippo, etc. PPA's mandate runs through 2009, when
it sunsets.
