U.S. Embassy Marines deliver “Toys for Tots”

On December 2011, the U.S. Embassy Marine Security Guards travelled to a local hospital in West Jakarta to give Christmas presents to 80 Indonesian children. Acting Detachment Commander Tran, Sergeant Drake and Corporals Alvarez and Medranos’ participation enhanced mutual understanding and helped local children in need during the holiday season.
The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the local community. The goal of the program is by delivering a new toy at Christmas, the Marines also deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters.
