The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking an individual for the position of Auto Mechanic Foreman in the Motor pool Unit.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The incumbent plans, directs and coordinates the use and maintenance of ICASS and State (Program) vehicles. The incumbent directs the activities of one assistant mechanic and one mechanic. The incumbent maintains over 100 official vehicles.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

 

1.      Completion of secondary high school is required.

 

2.      At least Three (3) years experience as a journeyman level mechanic or a position with vehicle maintenance responsibility is required.

 

3.      Level III (good working knowledge) in speaking/reading/writing in English and Bahasa Indonesian is required. Must be able to read, write and speak technical English and be familiar with terms used in automotive repair and parts manuals.

 

4.      Must have good working knowledge of the use of automotive diagnostic equipment in locating malfunctioning components. 

 

5.      Must have leadership qualities and willingness to assume responsibilities in making technical decisions and job assignments in the absence of an American Supervisor.

 

6.      Must have SIM B1 (Indonesian driver’s license).
