NOTE:  ONLY APPOINTMENT ELIGIBLE FAMILY MEMBERS AS DEFINED BELOW OF U.S. GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ASSIGNED TO THE MISSION UNDER CHIEF OF MISSION AUTHORITY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.  AN AEFM DOES NOT HAVE TO BE RESIDING IN COUNTRY TO BE CONSIDERED.  THEY WOULD BE NORMALLY CONSIDERED WITHIN ONE MONTH TIME FRAME OF ENROUTE TO POST AND PHONE INTERVIEW IS AN OPTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT ARRIVED AT POST YET.

 

The U.S. Embassy Jakarta is seeking an Eligible Family Member (AEFM) for employment for WAE Roving Administrative Clerk in the Human Resources Office.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

On an as-needed basis, provide temporary office and functional coverage for American employees.  Perform short-term assistance for special projects or periods of increased work levels in any Mission office to which incumbent is assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1.      At least 2 years university or college studies in business administration or related fields are required.

 

2.      6 months to 1 year secretarial/clerical experience is required.

 

3.      Web Gram, Clout, Time/Attendance and other training as relevant to the section to which incumbent is assigned is required.

 

4.      Level 4 (fluency) in Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.

 

5.      Incumbent must be familiar with structure of the US Mission and responsibilities of individual offices.  Incumbent will need to know Embassy/Department of State security procedures (including handling classified material), communications procedures, and other basic office procedures.

 

6.      Must be a quick learner able to adapt to a variety of office settings.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer programs used by US Mission.  Office management skills, i.e. word processing, filling, drafting, correspondence, etc., are required.  Strong organizational skills with the ability to schedule, make travel arrangements, and coordinate projects.

 

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

 

1.     Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.

2.     Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.

3.     Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.

4.     Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.

5.     The candidate must be able to obtain and retain a TS security clearance.
