June 2, 2009 U.S. Embassy Switching to Online Appointment System for American Citizen Services Starting June 15, 2009 Jakarta – Starting June 15, 2009, the U.S. Embassy will switch to an online appointment system for U.S. citizens requesting the following services: renewing a U.S. passport, requesting additional pages for a U.S. Passport, or obtaining Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA). Before making an appointment, American citizens living in Indonesia should visit the Embassy website at http://jakarta.usembassy.gov/, and make an appointment by following the instructions in the “American Citizens Services” section of the Consular information pages: http://jakarta.usembassy.gov/consular/acs.html. Applicants who show up for these services without an appointment will be asked to reschedule their visit with an appointment. U.S. Citizens who need notarial services or other citizen services should plan on coming to the Embassy during walk-in hours, which are Monday-Friday, 10 am to 11 am, except on Indonesian and American holidays. Americans living and traveling outside the U.S. are urged to register and update their contact information with the U.S. Department of State’s Consular Affairs website at http://travelregistration.state.gov.
