AMINEF Salutes New U.S.-Bound Fulbright Awardees

Bahasa Indonesia

Jakarta – Nearly 100 new Indonesian Fulbright scholarship awardees gathered in Jakarta May 13-15, 2009 for an orientation and networking event prior to their departure to study, teach or conduct research in the U.S.   The occasion was historic because it represented probably the largest gathering of Fulbright and related program grantees in the history of the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF).  The Indonesian grantees included research scholars, professors, student grantees, Humphrey mid-career professionals, Fulbright Indonesian Language Teaching Assistants, and participants in the Community College Summit Initiative program and the Global Undergraduate Initiative program.  A group of Fulbright scholars from the U.S. also participated.
