Applicants should include digital photos with their registration form. Applicants may submit only one entry form, and paper entries are no longer accepted. There is no fee for registering for the DV lottery. Applicants should note that this website is the only valid place to register for the DV Lottery, and should be cautious about any companies or other websites claiming they can help obtain a Diversity Visa or otherwise assist with registration. 

Lottery and visa applicants must meet the minimum education or work experience requirements outlined in the 2011 Diversity Visa instructions. Applicants are encouraged to submit their electronic entry early in the registration period to ensure registration. Lottery winners are selected by a computerized random drawing. These visas are available only to persons from eligible countries with low immigration rates to the United States, according to the rules of the program. Winners will be notified by regular mail between May and July of 2010 and provided instructions on how to proceed. During the 2007 DV Lottery approximately 30,000 Indonesian citizens applied for DV Lottery visas and 245 were selected as winners.
