ASEAN Youth Leadership Program

The ASEAN Youth Leadership Program (SEAYLP) began in 2010 in order to invite secondary school students and educators from across Indonesia to participate in a Southeast Asia focused Youth Leadership Program. The SEAYLP employs a highly interactive approach using workshops throughout a range of public and community settings. The participants engage with U.S. high schools, community organizations, youth groups, and community leaders with the goals of fostering civic participation and communicating the responsibilities of citizens in a democracy. Since the program’s creation, twenty students and educators have participated, representing hometowns such as Indramayu, Benjarmasin, Jayapura, and Bekasi.
